All the deaths in the holocaust was a huge turning point. it separated a lot of families and killed around 11 million people in total. For example, the extermination camps was terrible. It was made to only starve and kill the Jews. They did horrible things like put the Jews in gas chambers.
Also, the holocaust made people realize that Jews are the same as any one else and that they are not bad, they're normal from the inside and outside like everyone, many people helped the Jews out so that they wouldn't be sent to the concentration camps. People also worked together to help clean up messes.
